Ladies on the Go Malawi caught up
with Maureen to share her business journey.
How did you get your idea
or concept for the business?
I've
always loved clothes and the time I wanted to start business that was the only
thing I was good at so I thought of giving it a try.

How did you start your
business to get to where you are today?
Actually I
started business because I wanted to build myself for today and for my
tomorrow. So, it’s the idea of trying to make my next day better than today
that has kept me moving.

What are your
responsibilities as a business owner?
Well,
basically it’s all about getting customers, making sure my tailors do exactly
what I want them to. And making sure my customers remain happy.

What challenges did you
face when you first got into Fashion Designing?
Support,
contingency in the industry these days has also made people develop a negative
attitude about fashion designing.
Where do you see
yourself in the next five or ten years?
I
want to own my own brand and that's where I see myself with other different
kinds of businesses.
If you had one advice to
someone just starting out, especially young ladies and women who look down on
themselves, what would it be?
Most people are afraid of failing in any
kind of business but those are the instances that made me stronger. So never be
afraid of failure.
